A Joyous Feast of Trumpets To all Chaverim who fellowship in Mashiyach!
It is a wonderful blessing to see and hear of the many souls from around the world joining together to sight the New Moon for Yom Teruah. Many camp out on the shores of the Mediterranean, and the Red sea and at locations throughout Europe, Africa and the Americas etc, all preparing for the event that will on this day change the destiny of mankind forever. Yeshua said,
Yeshua says, "of that day and hour no man knows", most souls are too quick to conclude that because He said that "no man knows", so none will know the day of His return. Yeshua said only His Father knew that "day", but anyone who studies the Word of YHWH knows that man cannot know the precise day, because sanctifying the DAY for Yom Teruah is based on the visual sighting of the New Moon. The Prophet Amos, stated, "Surely YHWH Elohim will do nothing, except He reveal his secret unto his servants the prophets." Some of us like to do make calculations and speculate, some like guess which "DAY" Mashiyach may return, the important thing is that each soul is making rehearsal and preparations for that Day. Prophetically speaking, Yom Teruah is the day when "no man knows the day or the hour" because one has to experience that "Day" within the timetable of the "Living Elohim". During one Yeshiva class dealing with Yom Teruah I heard a soul exclaim, "WOW, the Torah is teaching a LIVING CALENDAR, YHWH is the LIVING ELOHIM", it's hard to say it more plain than that. Those who follow Torah enter into a living and prophetic "calendar", we become part of the Life of Mashiyach, our timeline, values, thoughts and interests are focused on His Timeline, not ours. This is a difficult step for many who are coming out of Babylon and the authority of the false calendar system, but the point is, YHWH's calendar has never changed!
We must ask ourselves, are we ready are for that Day?
It is wonderful to see how this very special Moed brings us together, as we anticipate the return of the Mashiyach we are united as one soul looking toward this most awesome event. It is a wonderful blessing to receive the emails and phone calls from souls asking has it been seen in Jerusalem? Have you seen it? Has anyone seen it? When does the Feast start? Is today the day? What if we don't see it tonight? What if we see it at sunrise? It is not something we want to miss, we know One Day this event will change with world for eternity. Yom Teruah, or the Day of Blowing will announce the return of His Majesty Yeshua Mashiyach Ben David, from that Day His Government shall be established and there will be no end to His Universal Kingship over all souls, this Day will arrive sooner than we may think, as a thief in the night it will come unexpected whether we are prepared or not. What a day Yom Teruah really is, it is such an imperative and monumental time that we can become overwhelmed with the concept, and even miss the opportunity to observe it as Yeshua and Torah instructs us. So Celebrate we shall, today we ingest His Word, lift up our voices and sing, blow the Shofar, and make preparation. We have His assurance, He has made an appointment with His people, He is a Father who is Faithful and Who keeps all His Word.
When is the Feast of Yom Teruah?
It happens every year in September/October with the visual sighting of the New Moon, this begins the month of Tishri, the seventh Hebrew month. The New Moon sighting occurs from 24-48 hours after the scientific New Moon which is entirely black. The Biblical New Moon is observed by the very first visible crescent of light appearing on the surface of the moon. "Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first of the month, shall you have a Shabbat, a memorial of blowing of trumpets , a holy convocation." Leviticus 23:24
Who should attend the Feast of Yom Teruah?
Everyone who has been called and individually chosen to be part of Israel, the invitation is extended to everyone. By adoption through Mashiyach we recognize there is one Creator and Father of us all, His Name is YHWH. The Word of YHWH and His Covenant to us is Torah. Everyone is included unless they choose otherwise (Leviticus 25:6-47). In each place where it refers to stranger or sojourner this refers to those who are not physically born into the twelve tribes of Israel. Check it out a Hebrew concordance, you will quickly discover in the Tanak 13 places where the word toshav <8453> is used. Check out the 83 places in the Tanak where the word ger <1616> is used. The nation of Israel, was chosen by YHWH to bring the knowledge of Torah and Mashiyach to the rest of the world. When Mashiyach returns, His feet will touch on the Mt. Olives and He will set up His Kingdom here in Jerusalem. It's time to understand His appointments, so you will know what to expect in the Day of YHWH.
Will there be these special "Appointed Times", when the Mashiyach returns?
Rav Shaul mentioned the Feast Days to be a shadow of things to come, many attempt to quantify the Appointed Times into a theological model, Pesach was instituted in Egypt providing physical and spiritual Deliverance, and it took on much more depth of meaning when Yeshua sacrificed for us. Mashiyach said, "But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom." Isaiah 66:22 states, "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, says YHWH, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Shabbat to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says YHWH." The Appointed times are eternal, perpetual and cannot be synthesized into a pagan calendar, just as the Word of YHWH is from everlasting, as long as there is time itself, there will be Appointed Times, the only question is whether mankind will recognize YHWH's calendar or follow his own.
How do I keep this Appointment?
Torah and the prophets reveal the Moedim of YHWH, as one begins to walk in the Moedim it is best to locate others in local areas who are also celebrating the Set Times according to the Scriptures. During the Moedim there is time to study and learn the significance of each of these Set Apart Days. All of these Appointed Times are days that are available to read and study the Torah and to enlarge our souls in YHWH for the Day Mashiyach returns. Each Moed has unique revelation about YHWH and our relationship to Him in Mashiyach. Yom Teruah is a time to "watch unto prayer". "Take ye heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time is." Mark 13:33 Imagine Mashiyach leaving a message on your answering machine saying, "I'll be coming within the next few days, get ready, be prepared, tell others!" So you get ready, you site the New Moon, you celebrate together with others, you read and study and the Scriptures become alive with new meaning, depth and life, you realize that although it wasn't the year that Mashiyach returned physically, you know within that you connected to Him in Spirit and in Truth. Then, you get another message from Mashiyach saying, "in 10 days all the earth will be judged for life or for death, get ready, be prepared, tell others, Shalom!"
Is this a way to know the will of YHWH for my life?
By understanding and observing the Set Times of YHWH many things are revealed, on many levels. YHWH Himself by the Ruach HaKodesh will speak to you and prepare you for your life's work, each of us is unique in our calling, but we are all very much the same in our need for distinct direction, wisdom and discernment. By setting apart the time for these very special Appointments, we experience insights and revelation that would not otherwise have been available to us. These appointments were designed and given my the Master of the Universe long before Jews or the people of Israel existed. These appointments were made for men and women to know the will of YHWH and to keep us vigilant in doing the things of Mashiyach in this life.
May you have a most blessed Shana Tova!
Shalom U'Vrachot, Baruch Ben Daniel
