The New Moon has been Sighted for Pesach! Jerusalem, Israel April 8, 2008
YHWH has set forth specific requirements in Torah to establish each New Year. On the vast majority of years, Orthodox, Karaite, Messianic and Netzarim Jews observe the Moedim at the same time, but from time to time there may be a difference of one day. In the year 2005, all the Torah requirements were met one month before the traditional Orthodox calendar. The question is, should one follow TORAH requirements regarding the Moedim and visible sighting of the New Moon, or follow "Tradition" that uses a "scientific" calendar.
Yeshua asked some tough questions of the religious community for instance, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of Elohim by your tradition?" Matthew 15:3
Mashiyach said it this way, "You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, This people draws close to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:7-9
Paul said it this way, "Do we then make void the Torah through faith? YHWH forbid: yea, we ESTABLISH the Torah." Romans 3:31
According to the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Orthodox Jews will follow scientific calculations of the New Year until Mashiyach comes, then the actual sighting of the New Moon will be re-established according to Torah. Very few would be foolish enough to argue with the Rebbe on this point, however who or what gives man the right to deviate from the Word of YHWH in the first place? Do you give men the authority to change the Word of YHWH? Those who follow Tradition would rather give men the authority than YHWH Himself who created and sustains all things!
What is the basis for the solar calendar, using the equinox, tekufah or tekufot theories? None! This tradition came from Jews and Christians who were biased towards paganism for... read more.

Why is it important that we observe the Moedim (Appointed Times) as YHWH prescribed?
The right answer is because YHWH said so. Yeshua and all His Talmidim observed the Moedim as set forth by YHWH. Over the last 2500 years there have been various factions and schools within Judaism both inside and outside of Israel that have put forth ideas about the timing of the Rosh Chodoshim. There are mathematical formulae, contrivances and traditions that attempt to overrule the simple and basic methodology set forth in Torah. On the basis of the Word of YHWH we need two things, a new moon sighting and the aviv barley that will ensure the first fruits is ready to be offered unto YHWH. No one is to eat of the new barley until the omer is brought before YHWH. It would be perplexing for thousands of souls to see ripe fields of barley each day but not be allowed to eat of it, this is why YHWH says to watch for the aviv and sanctify the Rosh Chodoshim according to His Word.
Tradition abounds also when it comes to observing Pesach, the Jewish Historian Yoseph Ben Mattathias records that the Netzarim celebrated Pesach for 8 days, not 7. Aramaic and Hebrew New Testament texts indicate that Yeshua and His Talmidim celebrated Pesach as a unique and separate day from the First day of Unleavened Bread, unlike the Pharisees.
Several passages in the Ketuvim Netzarim refer to a "feast of the Jews". John 5:1 "After this there was a feast of the Yehudeans; and Yeshua went up to Jerusalem." John 6:4 "And the Passover, a feast of the Yehudeans, was nigh." John 7:2 "Now the Yehudeans' feast of Tabernacles was at hand." John 11:55 "And the Yehudeans' Passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves." Why would Yochanan (John), a nice Jewish boy write about "the Yehudeans", the only time Jews refer to "a feast of the Jews" is when speaking about "the other Jews". Here are some possibilities;
1) John wasn't a Jew 2) John was using an idiomatic expression 3) Judeans is a reference to Jews 4) Judeans is a reference to those who lived in Judea 5) Greek translators messed with the text
Yochanan (John) was a Jew, he was the forerunner of Mashiyach himself!!! but he would have not written "the Yehudeans Passover" unless there was more than one Passover, regardless if his audience were Jews or Greeks. Yochanan was writing for a Jewish audience, and the only time two Jews need refer to the "feasts of the Jews", is when referring to "them Jews", not "us Jews", John referred to "the Feasts of the Jews", he was referring to the Pharisees. We know from history that Jews were doing the Moedim on a variety of different dates, but it appears, at least at this time in history, as the sanctification of the Month was consistent among the various sects.
Galatians 1:13 "For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the Kehillath of Elohim, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers." Everybody knows that Shaul was a Pharisee, Jews' religion is an idiomatic term for Pharisaism, just like the "Feasts of the Jews" are referring to the "Feasts of the Pharisees".
Mankind has a tendency to go with the flow, it's easy to pop a calendar up on the wall and let someone else do the heavy lifting and figure out when the Set Times of YHWH are, isn't it? It's easy to say, "good enough" and go with what is the popular route, it's just too easy... isn't it? Polycarp was a second generation disciple of John who was burnt alive because his contemporaries wanted to observe Easter on it's appointed time instead of Pesach on YHWH's appointed time. YHWH has set His Appointed Times and woe unto those who don't care either way. Polycarp wasn't the only one whose blood was shed when paganism came to town, there were many others, now it's your turn to choose... do you go with the Truth or follow Tradition?
Celebrating the Feasts According to Mashiyach's Government
The prophetic implications of the Feasts of YHWH boggles the mind considering that Yeshua said WATCH, PRAY and be extremely vigilant regarding the time of His return. But mankind has made their own image of god, by traditions that epitomize Babylon, and are steeped in Hellenism. We must come out from spiritual Babylon, to see and live according to YHWH's timetable. The Moedim are from the Ancient of Days, from the time YHWH touched a point in time and space and created the Universe, there have been Set Times. YHWH chose Jerusalem, therefore it is Jerusalem where the reckoning of the New Moons and the Barley begins, because the government of Mashiyach is universal, and Jerusalem is the capital city of his Kingdom.
If you consider yourself to be a son or daughter of Jerusalem then you know this is "Spiritual Jerusalem," it is a Jerusalem that you may not be able to see right now, but you know that Jerusalem above exists and you know that there is a "city whose builder and maker is Elohim." Whether you are a Canadian, American, European, South African or from any continent on this earth, if you follow Mashiyach then the government you surrender to is over all the governments of this earth and you aren't that government but you are to uphold it.
In other words, at the moment I'm in Lions Bay, British Columbia, Canada. I just received news that believers have sighted the New Moon in Canada and throughout the USA, before there was a New Moon sighting in Israel. So if I were to agree to sanctify the New Moon before Believers in Israel then the demarcation of time on earth would start here in Canada and end in Jerusalem. North Americans would set government over Jerusalem, but of course this would absolutely ridiculous to do when Mashiyach returns. Right? There are reasons that we might not know or understand now, why we should not usurp authority and go first. Think about it.
Another thing that I've found among many "believers" is that I've often heard something like..."I have no interest to go to Jerusalem," and "there is so much violence in Jerusalem," and "how can Jerusalem mean anything for us today, listen to the news." I hear such utter foolishness and it makes me sad that "believers" are so out of touch with Mashiyach because they have no eyes to see or ears to hear about what Mashiyach is doing and preparing for his people and his city. YHWH is drawing all the enemies of Jerusalem right into the city of Jerusalem as we speak. Everyone wants a piece of the Rock.
Every unclean bird and false authority and religious demon inspired hierarchy is trying to set up shop in Jerusalem to roll out the anti-Messiah, sorry, if you can't see that you are of a blind and stupid of spirit. And many believers are getting nervous because of what the Rothchilds, Rockerfellers and Bilderberger people (the kings of the earth) are doing, rather than keeping their focus on Mashiyach. The point is that if you can't even love what Mashiyach loves, why not? If you can't prefer Jerusalem above all other cities and places, why not? Obviously it's because of a person's Christianized world view that is so deeply seated in their psyche that they've become the measure of their own reality and truth by their own authority.
We don't wait until Mashiyach returns before we start entering into his government, we do it now, today is the acceptable day to realize that Mashiyach is a government, not a religion. We wait for Jerusalem, Jerusalem goes first and we follow and if you don't like that. Move.
It's a good time to step out in Faith, keep the Appointed Times in their seasons, listen to the Ruach HaKodesh for Discernment, and receive the revelation of Mashiyach ben Daveed!
"Thus says YAHWEH, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein." Jeremiah 6:16
May you and all your loved ones, together with all the Israel of Elohim, have a most blessed Chag Sameach!
YHWH be with you, Shalom U'Vrachot,
Baruch Ben Daniel
