Faith Dreams & Visions

Spiritual dreams connect our souls to HaMashiyach and provide wonderful insights for us, there are numerous profound examples of dreams provided by Elohim for His people.

B'resheet 20:3 But Elohim came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, you are but a dead man, for the woman which you have taken; she is a man's wife.

B'resheet 31:11 And the angel of Elohim spoke unto me in a dream, saying, Ya'akov: And I said, Here am I.

B'resheet 31:24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

B'resheet 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

While dreams remain a mystery for most of us we are still able to differentiate between the "normal" and the "spiritual" dreams.  Spiritual dreams profoundly impact us, they are something we don't easily forget and the interpretation of the dream is usually self evident.  Dreams I've had 20 years ago are as vivid in my mind today as when I had them, these dreams are used in powerful ways to direct our lives.  I recall one particular time when faced with a difficult decision I chose to do what Daniel traditionally did, I got on my knees, raised my hands to YHWH and prayed for wisdom and insight from the Ruach HaKodesh.  I had no bias as to which road to take but chose to put the question to YHWH in earnest prayer, then I went off to sleep.  That night I had two amazing dreams, both dreams startled me and I awoke with a burst of adrenalin after each dream.  After the second dream I was so energized I shot out of bed 2 hours earlier than normal and got to work.  The dreams spoke to me and gave me a very clear direction to the way I should go.  I discovered very quickly the decision was both fruitful and wise and became a great blessing for myself and others.

Dreams can be powerful things, the interpretation of dreams can influence us and shape our destiny, however we must carefully distinguish between dreams of our own consciousness and "spiritual dreams" where we connect to HaMashiyach.  Over the years I've met individuals who have put such great importance in dreams that their decision making process is based mainly on the interpretation of their dreams.  In some cases individuals have relinquished the fundamental authority of Scripture, in favor of the private interpretations of their dreams.  Dreams can therefore become a major handicap and have devastating effects to those who are attempting to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim.  Some dreamers have lost the ability to discern right from wrong by putting emphasis on their dreams for guidance.  I once visited a church group where the subject of the Name of YHWH came under hot debate, one individual was convinced "Lord" was the original and Holy Name of YHWH, instead of making basic queries of Scripture and earnest prayer (and if necessary fasting), the person began using a "prayer language" to decide the matter.  Not long after the meeting the same person had a bizarre dream (a normal occurrence) and interpreted the dream to mean that the Holy Name of YHWH came from "the devil".  This person taught others their "revelation" and in short order the demons were working overtime in their church and with their family.  The devastation was brutal and sustained, nearly a decade of physical, financial, mental and spiritual trials ensued before they were able to undo the curse they had put on themselves.

Dreams must all be interpreted through the Ruach HaKodesh and confirmed by Torah and HaMashiyach within the Body, and always be in line with the values of the Kingdom of Elohim.  While sharing some of my own dreams I have noticed many times that others have experienced the very same dreams, I find this a wonderful and fascinating confirmation.  In most all cases the interpretation of the dreams have also been consistent with all who received them.  This being the case we are well able to become accountable to the interpretation of dreams if we subject ourselves and our dreams to YHWH and His Torah.  YHWH is the one who reveals the meaning of dreams, and if we believe the dream came by the Ruach HaKodesh then we must also trust Him for the interpretation.

We must remember and apply Torah principles to all dreams before accepting the interpretation and authority of a dream, regardless if it was our own of someone else's dream.  The first pre-requisite of interpreting dreams is the dream must uphold the position and authority of the Torah and the Prophets as given by YHWH.

Devarim 13:1-5 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, as he said to you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which you have not known, and let us serve them;  Thou shall not listen unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for YHWH your Elohim proves you, to know whether you love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.  You shall walk after the YHWH your Elohim, and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him, and cleave unto Him.  And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from YHWH Elohim, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust you out of the way which YHWH Elohim commanded you to walk in. So shall you put the evil away from the midst of you.

We are instructed to "walk after", "fear", "keep His commandments", "obey His voice", "serve Him" and "cleave", unto YHWH, and we should also pay close attention when YHWH says "YHWH your Elohim PROVES you, to know whether you love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul."  By nature dreams are prophetic as they provide direction and authority to make crucial decisions for our lives, they provide real time insight into the Will of YHWH.  Unfortunately there are many capitalists who use the power of dreams to gain power unto themselves at the expense of others.

There are multitudes of false prophets like EG White of the Seventh Day Adventists who used dreams and visions to gain authority unto herself, whenever she needed to "pull rank" EG White had a vision from "the Lord" and claimed "I saw".  Whenever a self proclaimed "messenger" or "prophet" says they "saw" each one of us becomes immediately obliged to judge not only what they are saying, but the person making the claim to determine if they are a true or false prophet.  Unfortunately, Seventh Day Adventists are kept in the dark of basic Torah principles regarding dreamers, so they are unable to judge with righteous judgment.  SDA members who doubt the validity of EG White as a legitimate "messenger" wind up at the back of the SDA bus, so for most it is much easier to shut up and toe the line.   One of the most disturbing visions and teachings EG White had was that hasatan one time entered into "the holy place" (in heaven) and made atonement for the people of G-d, EG also taught that primitive Hotentot and Digger Indians evolved from monkeys, although later revisions in her writings have severely edited some of her wicked teachings.  Thankfully many SDA men and women have been delivered from the clutches of the  false prophet and have discovered how to tune their ears to the Ruach HaKodesh, in so doing they have renounced EG and the authority of "the Beast".

.  The Jehovah's Witnesses organization are not unlike the SDA church in that they take their authority from their founder JT Russel who was clearly a pagan, he wrote, "When Uranus and Jupiter meet in the humane sign of Aquarius in 1914, the long promised era will have made a fair start in the work of setting man free to work out his own salvation, and will insure the ultimate realization of dreams and ideals of all poets and sages in history"  C.T. Russell was born in 1852 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania into a Masonic home, he was troubled by the concept of hell and became a teenage skeptic.  At 18 (c.1869) C.T. attended a Second Adventist church meeting and studied with those mesmerized by EG White afterward C.T. stated "No, the truths I present, as God's mouthpiece, were not revealed in visions or dreams, nor by God's audible voice, nor all at once, but gradually..." C.T. was cunning, he just matter of fact stated he was sent by God but he never claimed the divine connection that EG White claimed, but rather CT claimed the "truth he preached came along "gradually".  As far as I know JW's still talk about their light "getting brighter", a sign of pure adulterous pagan religion.  Although it is not so popular nowadays, it used to be that SDA's and JW's held that they were the only "enlightened ones" and none-members had no hope for salvation, this is not so politically correct in their modern churches which are rapidly assimilating into tolerance of the world government.

Dreams can be read by the "dreamer" as "tea leaves" are read by the sorcerer, diviner or false prophet.  Those who use dreams to interpret life can make a very small package of themselves, we are taught to speak to our hearts and discipline our minds according to HaMashiyach and His Torah.  By not relying on the authority of the Word of YHWH the dreamer is susceptible to all form of religious ideas and confusion.  The input and stimulus put into their own soul becomes the "material" by which dreams are both generated and interpreted.  This is most certainly the case of one EG White, who was very emotional and vindictive, and who used dreams to manipulate the "flock".  Many people confide their dreams and interpretations, sometimes seems as if to test the waters and gain acceptance.  Dreams must be carefully tested by Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding revealed in the Word of YHWH, dreams must take us beyond ourselves into a higher calling and experience in HaMashiyach.  In the multitude of counsel there is wisdom, the Body of Mashiyach need also be witness to dreams and interpretations and be given agreement in the Ruach HaKodesh to interpretations and directives provided in spiritual dreams and visions.

In one of Israel's darkest hours YHWH reserved 7,000 men who had not bowed their knee or kissed Baal, these were competent men who removed themselves from the confusion and tyranny of false religion and teaching.  And so it is that a remnant of Israel will always be available to bear witness of spiritual dreams and visions and the interpretation of these dreams to establish the real time will of YHWH in each generation.

     Prophetic dreams will always uphold the Covenant of YHWH, most particularly the "New Covenant" that YHWH spoke through Yirmeyahu in which YHWH would write His Torah upon the hearts of His people.  As much as the dream and interpretation may or may not seem to bear witness of the Truth, one must also judge the one who brings the dream forth.   As you read in D'varim 13, it is YHWH who sends men and women out among the sheep to see if the sheep will follow YHWH or go after a false prophet.  Those who open their mouths to prophecy in the Name of YHWH must be judged, they must be transparent and accountable for everything that comes out of their mouths as well as their thoughts, actions and motives.  We are all imperfect beings and when mistakes are made we must each confess and make appropriate restitution, however when a false prophet prophecies in the Name of YHWH and souls make changes in their lives based on that authority, damage can be extensive, devastating and very difficult to reverse, this is hasatan's finest hour, which is why YHWH commanded;

Devarim 13:8-10  "You shall not consent unto him, nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him:  But you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.  And you shall stone him with stones, that he die; because he has sought to thrust you away from YHWH your Elohim".

It is very telling of the false religious crowd when they come across a Scripture like this and are very quick to reject it.  YHWH says that false prophets are to be in the same category of punishment as Serial rapists and child murderers, but in Babylon the false prophets drive big cars, fly personal jets, live in mansions and are held in honor by their supporters.  The "enlightened" want us to think that the death penalty is not a civilized way to deal with the rabid criminal element and false prophets.  Compare the ramifications of a false prophet who misleads people away from YHWH with a murderer who orchestrated the death of the innocent.  The consequences of allowing false prophets to live is that thousands of people could end up in utter physical, mental and spiritual destruction.  It is YHWH who is merciful and not man, man is unmerciful and ruthless when he says that capital punishment for a false prophet is too harsh.  The dreamer of dreams must be judged and reckoned accordingly, Babylon has no such laws or requirements that are imposed on false prophets which is why the yellow pages are full of false prophets ready to divine for money and entrap the people.  Babylon itself is a false system at war with YHWH, the law of the false prophet cannot be administered and the false prophet knows he faces no consequences in Babylon by making war against YHWH and His people.  On the contrary, Babylon rewards false prophets with materialism and fame.  Many have taken up careers as false prophets in order to fully live the "American Dream", but these would rapidly do a career change if they had to be accountable to YHWH, but of course this will not happen until HaMashiyach returns.

Before I, you or anyone else interprets a dream and applies it to our own life or someone else, we should follow a basic outline in Scripture regarding the dream itself.

Does the dream confirm or agree with the Witnesses in the Word of YHWH?

Is the dream meant for the sole consumption of the individual or for the larger population?

If it is meant for the sole consumption of the individual is there a responsibility to act on the information provided in the dream?

Does the dream reveal a potential future event, if so has the Name of YHWH been invoked for the Will of YHWH to be done on earth as it is in heaven?

If dreams reveal future events that will transpire against the people of HaMashiyach our response must be to rise up and do battle in the Name of YHWH and His Mashiyach.

If the dream is meant for a larger audience then it would be wise to take a look at how the prophets in the Tanak were commissioned to bring their dreams forward.  Babylon has always been the epitome of garbage in garbage out, so it is that genuine prophets of YHWH are trained not to be encumbered in the flesh, they cannot be bought or swayed by what Babylon might have to offer.  Fasting, prayer and all form of denial of the flesh helps remove one from the influence of confusion and sharpens our "spiritual senses" in the Ruach HaKodesh.

I once visited the dwelling of one who claimed mighty "prophetic gifts" to be shocked to see all from of paganism, Hollywood movies, DVD's, carnal sensual music and paraphernalia of "the beast" abounding throughout the house and library, even a very young and immature Talmid of HaMashiyach would be embarrassed to have entertained so much garbage, no one can serve two masters.  In the Parasha Kedoshim Shemot 19:1-20:27 the last verse of this parasha concludes with "A man or a woman who is a spirit-medium or sorcerer must be put to death; they are to stone them to death; their blood will be on them."  Clearly it is an extremely serious matter with YHWH that one does not divine or make authoritative statements by the Name of YHWH when He did not authorize them.

We must re-examine dreams, visions, interpretations of dreams and the various "prophets" we've crossed paths with and test each teaching and authority with the Word of YHWH.  The reason many cannot hear the voice of YHWH is because the voices of the false prophets make their voices loud and fill the airwaves with confusion and false teaching.  False prophets are distributing CD's, Videos, DVD's, full feature movies, weekly TV and Radio shows, along with hordes of print materials and web sites.  Paul counseled the Talmidim of Yeshua to not quench the Ruach, nor despise prophesying but to prove all things and hold fast to that which is good.  The burden lies on each of us to prove whether each directive levied by various leaders comes by the authority of YHWH and His Word or by their own religious ideas.  We must confirm each directive with witnesses who are "mighty in Scripture", who have the "Fear of YHWH" and who are in the "Household of Faith".

YHWH be with you,

Shalom U'Brechot,

Baruch Ben Daniel
