Mashiyach says "Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." He says "take my yoke", He is meek and lowly of heart, which means though He is The King of Kings, He is also The Servant of all! Think about when you were a child and you were anxious for something and needed to ask your father it, but were anxious that he might say no. When HaMashiyach is described as meek and lowly in heart this means He knows our needs, our hearts and our sufferings beforehand. He has already chosen not to reject our true needs, we must come to Him with a meek and lowly heart as He also has demonstrated in the way He came to us. It's not what one would expect from a King is it? It's difficult for us when we are rejected for just being who we are, especially by those we love. We use various words to describe the pain of having hearts trampled on, emptiness, sadness, and disappointment, we all have agonies and even anger caused by insensitivity or cruelty to our person. It is difficult to understand how others can't see that the common good is necessary for each of us to experience so we can establish mutual respect and love for one another. Even those we assume will love us, our fathers, mothers or "lovers" can at times be cruel, some are prone to habitually abuse and torment those they "love", sometimes true love is a rare thing. People don't want to hurt others, in many cases our words or actions hurt others though not intended to do so, but YHWH sent Perfection into the world through Yeshua for us to emulate. We experience love and suffering before we are truly able to appreciate the Power of Applied Truth in Yeshua. As much as we might think we've come to know and experience love and life, we really know very little until we come to know HaMashiyach. Through studying His Life and inviting Him into our lives, we begin to make sense of Love, Life and Justice. Mashiyach is also able to reveal who we really are, what we really need, and what is really important in this life. Left to ourselves we tend to over or underestimate ourselves, we think we know, but when stuff happens in life and death we realize we really don't know very much when it comes to the big picture. As we grow in Mashiyach we also see how vital it is to walk as He walked, even the things that seem rather simple at first begin to reveal a profound relationship between Man and his Creator, we become compelled to respond to His invitation to "take my yoke" and walk in the Malchut (Kingdom) of Elohim. The only downside to taking up New Life in HaMashiyach is that one can become very peculiar to a fallen world, but it is being a "peculiar treasure" unto YHWH that brings about the common good.
Yeshua said,
Very intriguing are those words, "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends", the best times of life are shared with family and friends whom we love, when we stray off course a little our friends are the ones who are anxious to steer us back to higher ground. So it is with HaMashiyach who puts His Spirit in us, He reminds us that we are His and we belong to Him, He reminds us that we are called to be a friend and do the common good. But what does it mean to HaMashiyach when we lay down our lives for our friends? Most are very quick to supply a subjective answer, but the real answer comes from HaMashiyach Himself.
Who chose who? If we have taken His yoke upon us then HaMashiyach says it is He who chose us and ordained us to go and bring forth fruit. He chose us and ordained us which means we walk as He walked or we've subjectively interpreted His Words to endorse our own values and ideas, and in my opinion this is what we have preferred, none walk as HaMashiyach walked, many know to do good but don't do it, not because they don't want to but because they cannot. Many are afraid to speak and act according to HaMashiyach because of the ridicule and resentment from those who hate the Way of Righteousness.
As the world turns away from righteousness it becomes more fashionable to persecute those who hold to a standard of righteousness and the common good.
We've learned about a false love, being accepted by others on the basis of traditional understandings is not the standard of YHWH, HaMashiyach and His Torah. As long as we walk and talk in a way that certain others like to hear, we receive acceptance from them, be we quickly "fall from grace" when we speak of the Name of YHWH or Torah Observance and the things of HaMashiyach. Laying down one's life for our friends means to bear the infamy of the Truth and to live according to HaMashiyach and His Torah. We take His YOKE upon us, which means we diverge from our own understanding and "worldly living" and raise up the Banner of YHWH and His Mashiyach. As we distinguish between right and wrong we'll walk with our backs full of knives as people whisper and mock the Way we live, for them we're "holier than thou", or "legalists" or "too heavenly minded" or whatever, but there is no turning back, there is nothing to turn back to. Today a brother in Yeshua brought much joy to my soul, I got an email from him asking if I would put up a notice on his website let visitors know that he did not want them to purchase his materials on Shabbat, it's a simple thing really, he wants others to know of the Shabbat rest we have in Mashiyach through Observing Torah. Forget about the money on Shabbat, forget about the cares of this world, nothing matters more to Life and Love than to take some time and be in Him. Yeshua says, "Take My Yoke upon you, and learn of me" this is a yoke of being in Him, and we can be sure that as we take His Yoke upon us we will see our own flaws and our own "humanity" much more clear, this is a wonderful asset because it helps us to not look at or dwell on the flaws of others. The reality is that if we truly take His Yoke upon us then we will have His compassion on those who would be quick to knife us in the back because of our differences with them, its not a matter of live and let live and it never has been, its a matter of dying so that we may life a new life in Him.
We don't have any love of our own to give, this is relatively easily to prove. Some years ago I was doing research for a book about Love, I interviewed some of the most successful and spiritually wise couples I could find. I asked each person to define love, guess what happened? I asked a hundred people and got a hundred different definitions of love, each one had magnificent life long experiences with Love. I heard some of the most heart warming stories, it was a wonderful experience, but if I asked you to define love, I'm sure you would also have a unique and amazing answer. The point is that love, which holds the very essence of life together, is one of the most difficult things for us to define. Without love the world would rapidly end, people would be fearful and kill each other off! Love ensures our continued existence on this planet and our future in the Word to Come, but we struggle on a definition. If you don't already know what I am talking about, I challenge you to ask a few people to define love. We have to borrow love, and we even have to borrow a definition for love because mankind can't seem to find one. When all else fails some will say, "G-d is Love", that's when I have to laugh, I believe they're right, but it truly shows the state of man, doesn't it? Some people say, "He put this love in my heart!" Because we really don't know where else it might have come from. Besides, we know ourselves too well, we know that love is much, much bigger than we are. From time to time we fail, but Love will never fail... it CANNOT FAIL! Just knowing this tells us that the road to love is in HaMashiyach Yeshua and it is protected by His Torah!
Here's one definition of LOVE:
Love is My Free Choice to Suffer for Righteousness
Love is the culmination of everything that Torah describes as Righteous, an evil person experiences love, because the Spirit of Mashiyach touches everyone, but the wicked do not walk in love because they ultimately hate righteousness. Righteousness is not ours any more than Love is ours, its not something we own for ourselves, we borrow righteousness from Mashiyach to experience Him and walk according to His Way. Mashiyach is revealed to us as YHWH Tsidkenu, YHWH our Righteousness.
Love demands action, that's where the "suffering" enters, because love must be applied, Love is defined in truth, kindness, compassion, intimacy, peace, justice etc. Our hearts yearn for Love, the Spiritual Man yearns for true intimacy with YHWH, our Neshama must connect to the Spirit of YHWH to be satisfied and nurtured. The Mashiyach helps us to take this quantum leap, Mashiyach enables us to meet "The Father". By studying the Life of Mashiyach and responding to Him, we are able to enter into an intimate relationship with YHWH, we are created in the Image of Elohim therefore He reveals Himself in us. The Mashiyach lightens our load. He knows exactly how our souls need to be loved and nurtured. When empty words, broken promises or cruelty from others has left us barren or hurting, there is One Absolute Lover of our Souls who cannot deny Himself. He is the Just One, The Perfect Lamb, HaMashiyach Y'shua.
Apart from all the "posturing" of various religions, there are a few questions that really beg the "Mashiyach" question. If our hearts cannot make the connection with Love and through Righteousness then we need to take a cold, hard look at the facts that will almost seemingly slap us in the face. Check this out.
Who can make an end of sins? Who can make reconciliation for inquity? Who can bring in everlasting righteousness? M A S H I Y A C H The Mashiyach personifies YHWH and Torah.
The most Holy is HaMashiyach. The temple was in chaos and disarray, YHWH allowed for the temple in Jerusalem to be destroyed. The party was over, the Temple could no longer be used as a business opportunity for the corrupt ruling classes.
Messiah shall be cut off? Yes and Mashiyach was cut off, but not for himself. The Prophets clearly tell of Mashiyach Ben Yoseph, the Messiah Y'shua, who came to suffer for His people.
The Temple and Beautiful and Holy City Jerusalem was destroyed, and the sacrifices were discontinued when Titus came against Jerusalem in 70 AD. The motive of this was clear, "for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate." This is PRECISELY, as history records! The Temple according to HaMashiyach Himself had become a "den of thieves". The thieves who ran the temple are the same today who speak against Y'shua as HaMashiyach, they rob the people by making void the Torah by their traditions. Orthodox traditions says Y'shua is not the Mashiyach, why? The institution of Orthodox Judaism is a religion of men, as all religion is. When man deceives himself to think he owns the rights to G-d then we also begin to believe that we own things like Justice, Righteousness, Truth and Love and we fall off the path leading to HaMashiyach. Many leaders have taken the authority upon themselves, by tradition, to discredit Ha Mashiyach and His followers because HaMashiyach's words and actions weighed all religions and find them wanting. The Prushim (Pharisees) of ancient times evolved into the modern "Orthodoxy" that we see today, Mashiyach found not all but some of this religion to be cruel and wanting of righteousness. Yes, the same could also be said of all other religions, Christianity and all other Religions incorporate tradition as a higher calling than Mashiyach and His Torah. However, YHWH is not mocked, let Elohim be true and every man a liar. The Word of YHWH will endure forever and His Torah (Word) is from everlasting. To make light of Torah and speak against Ha Mashiyach is to find oneself in defiance of Truth and warring against the Name of YHWH, YHWH said that "vengeance belongs to Him", and we are also told that it is a "fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living Elohim", but many don't have the "Fear of YHWH". When Mashiyach Ben David appears he will establish His Universal Government. YHWH did not tolerate what was going on in the Temple in Jerusalem, it had to be terminated, he allowed the Roman armies to smash it down. Mashiyach Ben David is bringing the authority and power that this world has never seen and can't begin to imagine. Unlike Mashiyach Ben Yoseph who established Himself as the Servant King, Mashiyach Ben David will come with both Spiritual and Natural forces the world has never witnesses, the Prophets spoke in detail about Him and His Coming. The Universe will shake from the inside, man will see the realities of his own existence and what is truly in his soul, the conscience, motive, will and spirit of each soul will be revealed, man will be naked as Adam and Eve after original sin. Our covering in the Day of YHWH will be HaMashiyach and His Righteousness. Mashiyach earnestly compelled His people to be prepared for the Day of His return.
Why are there prophecies about a Suffering Mashiyach, and why is this necessary? Because Love was Perfected for all of us in the Sufferings of Mashiyach.
What is the reason that some people refused to recognize Y'shua as the Mashiyach? Religion is the great distraction of entering into a relationship with YHWH and His Mashiyach, people are afraid of what is really inside of themselves and don't want others to know who they really are, religion is the easy and popular cover-up. Religion is Hollywood where people act like someone they are not to become accepted into a peer group. Yochanan wrote, "For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."
Why did Yosephs brothers in Egypt not recognize him? He looked like an Egyptian in an Egyptian setting, Yeshua has been made to look like a pagan and a Gentile in a Gentile setting, His own People can't recognize Him. "Jesus Christ" is an image of man's theologies, the opposite values of the image of YHWH and His Word.
Why is it so difficult for people today to observe the Words of Mashiyach, and Torah? "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and YHWH has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Everyone has a propensity to do what is right in their own eyes, and when a person walks in Truth they are quickly persecuted by those who feel judged or condemned by the actions of a righteous soul.
Why does the world have to suffer so much, if Mashiyach has already come? Why did Israel suffer when Moshe was their leader? We each have the free choice to do what is right or not to, suffering comes about by generational curses that have come upon people and the land because of violating Torah. Wealthy countries have built their wealth on slavery, murder, kidnapping, stealing resources from poor countries, lies, manipulation, greed etc, the wealthy nations are void of Justice. The nations where thousands of children die each day have entirely abandoned YHWH and Torah, their leadership is short sighted and self serving, they have resources and abilities but refuse to seek the common good of the people. We suffer greatly when we choose to rebel against YHWH and His Mashiyach.
Why are we on earth? What is the focal point of human existence? Mashiyach. We are here because we are made in the Image of Elohim to populate the spiritual worlds. Mashiyach is looking for volunteers, not slaves, He calls us "friends" because we know His mission and His mandate.
If Yeshua is HaMashiyach, how will this change my life? As we follow Him each individual will answer this question uniquely, HaMashiyach relates with each one as an individual, we are not one-suit-fits-all as religion demonstrates, we each have a unique responsibility to our ultimate Master and King.
YHWH be with you, Shalom U'Vrachot,
Baruch Ben Daniel
My prayers are also with you.
